Certificate III Production Horticulture | CRICOS Course Code: 098371G

CAO Education has collaborated with Ti Education and Training to offer the Certificate III in Production Horticulture. This qualification provides a vocational outcome in production horticulture and enables individuals to select from tree cropping, vegetable or berry production, grape growing or mushroom production as a study focus.

  • Hands on training

    Students receive instruction and training on a local thriving strawberry farm from expert professionals with years of experience in the field of Horticulture.

  • Focused coursework

    The course covers all aspects of commercial horticulture and equips students with the comprehensive knowledge of the subject necessary to pursue a career in the field.

  • Simulation farm

    Students will have access to real life farm machinery, tools and equipment and can utilise documents, staff and operational procedures as needed in order to provide examples for case studies and observations.

  • Experienced tutors

    Skilled and experienced tutors will guide you through the training course, empowering you with the skills and knowledge to succeed.

Entry requirements

This course is available to international students who are able to provide evidence that they:

Have a suitable level of language, learning and numeracy according to the LLN Assessment Tool and within the scope of student support that Ti Education is able to offer the student if required.

Have an interest in a career in production horticulture

Have completed year 12 or equivalent

Are over the age of 18

Meet the English proficiency requirements of this course (IELTS 5.5 or above). Note that CAO Education provides intensive English programs (IEP) if you cannot initially meet the English requirements.

Students should also have a level of physical fitness that enables them to undertake manual labour such as bending and lifting. This is a physical course!

  • Selection process

    Applicants will be required to complete an entry interview which includes a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to finalising your enrolment to ensure that the course is suitable for you, and that Ti Education and Training is able to meet your individual needs. The assessment includes a written test and interview to complete the verbal component of the test.

  • Assessment process

    Units of competency are assessed in clusters which are detailed in the section above entitled Training Arrangements. Assessment for each cluster will take place over the term allocated using methods stipulated below. Assessment will be conducted in a blended manner with students completing some assessments in class time, some in their own time.
